What is ZED Certification?

Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) is a comprehensive certification scheme launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to rate and assess MSMEs on their quality, productivity, and environmental sustainability. The scheme was launched to promote the philosophy of "Zero Defect" in manufacturing and "Zero Effect" on the environment.

The ZED Certification aims to motivate and guide MSMEs to adopt best practices in quality, energy efficiency, waste management, and worker safety. Through a structured assessment and rating system, MSMEs can identify gaps, implement improvements, and achieve certification at Bronze, Silver, or Gold levels.
